Portage La Prairie, Manitoba

Portage la Prairie is a vibrant city in south-central Manitoba, situated on the historic transcontinental railway and highway routes. Its name, derived from French, refers to the portage travelers made between the Assiniboine River and Lake Manitoba. Today, it remains a critical transportation hub, located where the Trans-Canada Highway meets the Yellowhead Highway.
